Trolley Award 2024
slide-trolley.jpg

The Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island received a Trolley Grant Award at the Annual Awards Event, January 25, 2024.

Rick Cardozza is responsible for writing the grant on an annual basis and for reporting the outcome of the projects that are funded.

This fantastic program is a joint venture between Manatee County Government and the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce. Funding for these grants on the Island comes from the Tourist Tax that is imposed on vacationers on AMI, is managed by Manatee County and many dollars come back to non-profits on Anna Maria Island. With an average of half a million riders a year, the free trolleys help reduce traffic around the island. In order to help keep the trolleys free for all who ride them, the AMI Chamber sells advertising space on the outside as well as on the inside of the trolleys. These ads also brighten and amplify the character of the trolleys as well as the island. Be sure to check them out, you will find great offers in some of the ads!

After taking care of expenses and administrative costs, excess revenue is dispersed in the form of grants to committee-selected Island and Cortez  not-for-profit groups. The AMI Chamber is extremely honored to be a part of this valuable program and gives back to the community in an effort to preserve our island, its wildlife, history, arts and culture and organizations who do so much for our society. The AMI Chamber has always supported the AGAMI Gallery by helping to advertise the Market Nights with our Rack Cards between October and April during the tourist season.

Window Display Guidelines

Please note the change in how the Gallery is handling Theme Windows:

We are no longer charging for displaying your artwork on the front window.

January through April, 2025, there will be featured artists for each of these months.  Starting in May, 2025, there will be themes for the windows for each month.   Stay tuned to the list of themes for 2025.

Thank you for participating in the support of our Art Gallery.

The painting should be delivered to the upper racks in the back designated for this event before the first day of the month in which you wish to participate. Make out a sale card to go with the paintings with title and price and apply to the painting.

Every effort will be made to use your painting in the window. The final decision is made by the window committee.

All members — whether Display Artists or not, are eligible for theme windows.
